While enjoying a stroll through Powells books in Portland I stumbled across one of my favorite Etsy sellers, Rachel Austin. She had her prints on sale at Powells. I really love her work and now love it even more. When traveling it’s always a treat to discover local artists.

Today we’re leaving on a jet plane and heading for Seattle, Vancouver and Portland. Am I excited? Excited isn’t a strong enough word. I have been wanting to head out to these artsy, Asian infused dining, cupcake originating, wine filled cities for years. Finally my long wait is over! I started the vacation a little early and broke out an amazing bottle of Pinot Noir from a good friend in Portland (fitting huh?), lit the candles on my porch (where I always feel like I’m vacation) and continued my recent addiction of reading “Little Bee.”
