Design Roots
Recently I’ve been thinking about my design roots as I’m tending my perennials and designing my container gardens. My love and passion for design came from my days working in a green house with perennials and herbs back when I was a kid. The colors and textures of the plants stimulated my imagination and senses. I loved the transformation of taking the plants from their pots in the greenhouse and planting them into the earths palette and discovering them in a whole new way, as art. My parents dug out a small spot in our backyard for my own corner garden. I would bring home the scraps from cuttings and landscapes we had cleaned out that day and I started to design my own garden, mixing textures, colors, heights, depths and smells. Because of my garden obsession I snap a lot of photos of flowers. I came across them recently and was inspired to design note card sets which I just posted to my etsy shop. During our recent trip to the Northwest I snapped away at wildflowers as we hiked trails in Oregon. Here are two new card designs which were just added to my shop today. Enjoy!
