Last Saturday we partied like it was 1950. My brother brought his tangerine orange Belair, we rolled up our pants, wrapped the scarves around our necks and sang happy birthday to my dad who turned 60. The night was a total blast. We played records all night long and reminisced over the last 60 years. Happy birthday dad! Can’t wait to celebrate many more!

I know the plane has barely left the ground but I am already dreaming of my next vacation. I have got to get to Brussels and stay at the Pantone Hotel. What! I can stay at the center of the color universe!? Can it be true? I would have to stay 7 nights so I could try out every room.

Today we’re leaving on a jet plane and heading for Seattle, Vancouver and Portland. Am I excited? Excited isn’t a strong enough word. I have been wanting to head out to these artsy, Asian infused dining, cupcake originating, wine filled cities for years. Finally my long wait is over! I started the vacation a little early and broke out an amazing bottle of Pinot Noir from a good friend in Portland (fitting huh?), lit the candles on my porch (where I always feel like I’m vacation) and continued my recent addiction of reading “Little Bee.”
Here’s some of the spots we’ll be hitting up:
Can’t wait to share more with you when I return!
Ciao for now!

So until recently I have still been riding around on my old middle school bike. Pathetic. Then my mom gave me her old bike so now I at least have a bike that fits my size. And then yesterday I stumble across this puma bike and fell in l-o-v-e. Too bad it’s $649 which is completely out of my budget for a bike. Heck that thing better have a self propelling motor for that price! But the color combination on this beauty makes me want to bike everywhere or even just sit and stare at it in my garage.
This past Sunday we hit up the white pine trail for the first time. Now that we live practically on the trail I think we’ll be cruisin up and down it quite a bit. It was amazing and the biggest perk about the trail – it’s FLAT! ha! Hope to see you on the trail!
