Yesterday I had my little nephew Noah over for craft day. Noah isn’t your average little crafter. In his own words when I told him how great he was doing, “Well you guys, I am an artist.” Haha! I love his obsession with crafts and using his imagination. We had a blast together yesterday creating one of my favorite crafts growing up. I used to love melting crayons between wax paper and seeing how the colors blended and then making cool shapes out of them. Maybe I shouldn’t put that in past tense because yesterday I found out how much I still love it! Ha!
Noah is always coloring so when I saw this cute pattern for a crayon roll I had to make one for him.

Now these are the cutest cakes and cupcakes I’ve seen. To make it even better you and I can make them right in our own kitchen! Purchase a sheet of icing graphics at Ticings and apply them to your cupcakes! As they say, “you bake the canvas and we’ll do the rest!” What a brilliant idea and a super adorable business name. They are definitely enticing!

Last night we celebrated my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary. We surprised them with an invitation to dinner followed by desserts at our house. I can’t think of a better place to enjoy amazing food and spirits in Grand Rapids then The Green Well. (Plus they have my favorite white wine from Orvieto where Nate and I traveled a few years ago. Next time you go be sure to try it.) We enjoyed an evening of reminiscing and looking through old photo albums of my parent’s first Christmas together, their honeymoon trip to the Grand Canyon, their wedding day and more. Lots of laughs were had about the ankle high pants my dad used to wear, the $15 honeymoon suite my dad booked under the name of Phil Johnson, and the wigs my mom used to wear but most of all we were in awe of the two of them and the love they have for one another. We were honored to be sitting there as their children and to have such amazing parents who model to us that love between two people does last a lifetime. Happy 40th wedding anniversary mom and dad!

I’m totally diggin this new line by Puma. They joined forces with artist Kehinde Wiley to produce the collection. I love the splashes of color and sharp lines. Who wouldn’t look hot working out in one of these?
